AFI`s 'Decemberunderground' opens at No. 1 on The Billboard 200, the first chart-topper of the band`s career. The Tiny Evil/Interscope set moved 182,000 units in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, the rock group`s best one-week tally. AFI`s previous album, 'Sing the Sorrow,' entered at No. 3 in 2003 with 96,000.

After holding down No. 1 for two weeks straight, the Dixie Chicks` 'Taking the Long Way' (Columbia) falls to No. 2 with 175,000 copies, a 36 percent sales decrease. 'New Joc City' from Bad Boy South`s Yung Joc debuts at No. 3 with 148,000. Sales were fueled by the popularity of the lead single, 'It`s Goin` Down,' which overtook the No. 4 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 last week. 'New Joc City' also crowns the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

With his first album in six years, Ice Cube returns to the 200 with 'Laugh Now, Cry Later' at No. 5 (144,000). This is the former N.W.A. rapper`s first release through his own Lench Mob imprint and is his sixth to bow in the top 10 tier of the chart. The soundtrack to Disney`s 'High School Musical' slips from 2 to 5 with 87,000 (-16 percent), while the Red Hot Chili Peppers` Warner Bros. set 'Stadium Arcadium' falls from 3 to 6 with a 2 percent decrease at 86,000 copies.

With contributions from Rascal Flatts, John Mayer and Sheryl Crow, the soundtrack to Disney`s Pixar-animated film 'Cars' steers into the No. 7 slot in its debut week with 68,000 copies. The set also lands at No. 1 on Billboard`s Top Soundtracks chart. Rascal Flatts` fourth Lyric Street/Hollywood set, 'Me and My Gang,' dips from 4 to 8 with a 17 percent decrease while Rihanna`s 'A Girl Like Me' (SRP/Def Jam) re-enters the top tier, moving from 11 to 9 with 51,000 (+2 percent). The 21st 'NOW! That`s What I Call Music' (BMG/Zomba/EMI/UME) installment drops from 6 to 10 with 49,000 (-12 percent).

Terror Squad`s DJ Khaled scratches out 44,000 copies of his debut 'Listennn: The Album,' good enough for a No. 12 debut, while Jeff Foxworthy and friends` 'Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One For the Road' (Warner Bros.) bows at No. 19 with 35,000. Other big debuts include SideOneDummy`s 'Vans Warped Tour 2006 Compilation' (No. 27, 30,000) and Kottonmouth Kings` fifth Suburban Noize record, 'Koast II Koast' (No. 39, 21,000). At 9.5 million units, overall CD sales were up 3 percent from the previous week and down 14 percent compared to the same week a year ago. Sales for 2006 are down 3 percent compared to 2005 at 241.2 million units.
